How being a mother changed my life

Hi there!!  My little boy is turning 2 on Saturday and I am shocked at how the time has flown by!!  I have found myself reminiscing over these past few days about how the past two years, and being a mom, has changed my life.  I honestly never thought that there could be such an intense love for someone - I was told this by soooo many people, but you cannot quite grasp the concept until you become a parent yourself, right!

I have realized that my personality has changed a bit.  Without even thinking about it I have become a more patient and understanding person.  In the past my patience levels were at about 0, but that has changed significantly since my son was born.  I have also matured a lot - having a child requires you to be more mature, and we adjust to this without even realizing it,  This for me is one of the greatest things about parents - we adjust to life with children so easily, we really don't need to worry half as much as we do!! Though we all still do

I have also found myself falling more and more in love with my dear hubby - there is just something sooo special about seeing him play with our son and telling him 'Daddy loves you lots my boy'!!  It warms my heart to its very core!!  I am very grateful to have such a great husband and father for Robert!!

Another way being a mom has changed my life is that it allows me to be comfortable with my obsessive planning and organisation.  In the past this seemed to be a nuisance but now it is great to be able to use this on a daily basis.  And proper planning certainly makes life with a toddler MUCH easier!!  It is so reassuring when we are stuck somewhere and I have packed everything that we need - no need to scurry around for stuff or make some or the other plan - baby is taken care of!!

Being a mom has also helped me to be a stronger person.  As a mother it is my responsibility to stand up for my child and ensure that no one treats him badly.  I used to be a very soft person (and in certain ways I still am) but I find myself improving daily and being more and more able to stand up for my little boy!!  This makes me feel like a good mother

And finally, motherhood is very satisfying!! It is such a pleasure to see my son grow up and become his own person, to see my husband grow as a father and myself as a mother!!

I'll end with this popular saying which I found to be completely 100% true:

♥  The best feeling in the world is when your child's little arms hug you sooo tight you never want them to let go!!

Bye bye
